Purpose

Divorce care, before you divorce, grief share, chance to change, facing forever, and divorce care for kids

Description

Church Initiative was founded in 1993 as DivorceCare by Steve and Cheryl Grissom. They are based out of Wake Forest, North Carolina. Church Initiative is a nondenominational, nonprofit ministry, equipping thousands of churches in all 50 states, throughout Canada, the UK, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand. The ministry produces and publishes a variety of video-based curriculums, focusing on the small group format. They currently offer Before you Divorce, a ministry strategy to help save failing marriages; DivorceCare, a ministry for those going through divorce; and an additional program geared toward children of divorce, DivorceCare for Kids (DC4K). Church Initiative is designed to equip churches with effective ways to minister to hurting people and to share with them the good news of Jesus Christ. They believe the local church should remain the focal point of ministry.
